Eric Howerton, born and raised in Jonesboro, Arkansas, graduated from Arkansas State University with a degree in photojournalism in the year 2000. During his college years, he excelled in photography and was awarded photographer of the year his senior year. He was photo editor of the school newspaper and a photographer for the school yearbook. Howerton also worked in the pre-press department for the Jonesboro Sun newspaper and as a photo lab technician for Mid-South Photographic Specialties.
Since graduation, Howerton has been a photographer for the Northwest Arkansas Times, publisher of Get Out magazine, owner of Now Creative, Inc., and has personally photographed many weddings.
