Who doesn’t love breakfast? Have you ever considered a Sunday morning breakfast wedding? May sound odd to you as most weddings are traditionally held in the evening hours, but why not consider something very unique that will get your guests talking. You could hold the ceremony at a nearby church or right on the venue site. Let’s look on how the morning and afternoon would pan out:
Guest arrival time is 10:30AM. Hire a 3 piece jazz band or harpist to play as your guests arrive. Set up a mimosa station (champagne and orange juice) . Offer beverage stations to include assorted flavoured teas, hot chocolate, and specialty coffees. With the beverage station set up biscotti, biscuits, scones and chocolate croissants as guests can help themselves during this “breakfast cocktail hour”.
Ask all guests to be seated for introductions and then open the buffet breakfast for 11:30. When it’s time to eat you can have the venues catering manager start with the head table, and the family tables to begin with the buffet. From there, 2 or three tables at a time will be asked to make their way up to the buffet station. You want it to be organized so there is no mad rush. You can plan a beautiful buffet breakfast with items like eggs Benedict, omelet station, stuffed french toast, Belgium waffles, fruit carvings and so much more.
Why do a breakfast wedding? So many brides are on a limited budget and still want to have a dream wedding but can’t afford all the extras. Other than the champagne, there are no other alcohol costs so your bar bill will be very inexpensive. Also, the breakfast menu will most likely be more affordable then a sit down 4 course Fillet Mignon dinner. If you select a restaurant then you can certainly avoid linen and seat cover costs and just provide a nice centerpiece for the guest tables. Even if you decide to rent seat covers and linens, I am sure many decorators would give you a better price for a Sunday wedding. If the ceremony is right on site you won’t need to rent a limo as you can do your pictures on the premises.
You would still carry on with the traditions like speeches, first dance and throw away bouquet. The day would end by late afternoon, giving you enough time to pack up your gifts and head home early to get some rest before that morning flight to your honeymoon. Sleep well!
