Principal Photographer - Jennifer Belkus Goolkasian
Jennifer's aesthetics blend documentary realism with a softer, illustrative style. She sculpts with light and movement and composes her subjects artfully. Her experience in the last decade in film and photography production on the East and West Coasts has honed her ability to freeze action and craft stories from live events. She has worked for awarding winning commercial production and post production operations Coyote Films and one-eleven services of San Francisco, California. She currently shoots commercially in the 48 States and Europe.

"My husband and I were overall extremely pleased with our wedding photography. We met with a few photographers before Jennifer; none of them portrayed the level of enthusiasm, artistry, and professionalism that Jennifer did. Throughout planning, we emailed Jennifer with new ideas and general updates; she responded usually in the same day! As a bride, this was extremely helpful, especially when you are trying to coordinate all the small details! When the big day was finally here, Jennifer and Dan arrived promptly and were ready to go. We did a bunch of formals but they also got great candids that really told the story of the day. One thing I really appreciated was that Jennifer and Dan were there when you needed them, but when we were busy they were out of the way; we didn't even know they were there. When we got the photos back, it really showed that they were there all day long. They captured all the most memorable moments and more. My husband and I are still in awe of the amount and quality of the photos we received. Since these images are ones you want to share with everyone, it was great the Aphrodite publishes them to a website where anyone we send the link to can view and order prints. All in all, I would recommend Aphrodite Photography to any engaged couple (actually we already have)!!" |

"Jennifer was great! She was on-site from 10am to 11pm (she charges by day, not by hour). She seemed to be everywhere during the day and never seemed low on energy. She was easy to work with and very upbeat. We had a lot of fun taking the formal pictures. She was attuned to we wanted, and had good ideas of her own. She used a range of photography techniques. She made good use of the natural lighting and setting, when we told he what was available and what we would like to use (a lake, railroad tracks, etc.). Though she was everywhere through the night, she was never obtrusive or in the way. She was absolutely devoted to our wedding, and to capturing the moment and the feeling. She provided an incredible service to us. Photos were really not stressful at all, but very enjoyable! We now have a wonderful, artistic chronicle of our wedding day." |

"We were absolutely delighted with our pictures. In addition to capturing us and our guests beautifully, Jennifer really used the unique architecture of the spaces to create amazing compositions. "What was your favorite wedding photo? The picture of our first dance when Jennifer captured us in movement while Greg was turning me.
How did the wedding photographer avoid disrupting the day? Great with candids? Action shots? Portraits? We never had to wait for Jennifer she was always running ahead of us so we never had to stop and wait for a picture we could enjoy our day.
What was included in your wedding photo package? Albums? DVDs? Engagement pics? Two photographers? DVDs and the rights to the pictures, 2 photograhers & a website
How did the photographer make you and family comfortable? She was very flexible when we needed to formally pose and when we wanted to make it a casual shot. She blended into our guests so that most of the reception we did not even see her, but she still took the best shots at the reception." |

"Jennifer was an absolute pleasure to work with! She was extreamly organized, flexible, artistic, professional and willing to do what I had envisioned for my wedding while taking her own creative liberties, which were much appreciated. I barely remember Jennifer there and when I looked at the photos I thought, when did she take that and how did she get that angle? There were so many different perspectives and she captured the entirety of day and every detail. I loved the lighting in every picture and how she captured a picture of everything! One of my favorites was a night picture of the tent from afar but you could see the plants and greenary in the forefront. The tent was just glowing! I have so many other favorites however this also included of course the ones of ny new husband and I in a boat with my dad rowing us, just after the ceremony. The lighting and coloring was just amazing. My aunt said looking at the pictures made her feel like she experienced the wedding all over again. Another friend who wasn't able to make it said she felt as though she were there, just by looking at the pictures. I would higly recommend Jennifer for any wedding or big event of which you'd love to capture long lasting memories." |

"Jennifer was amazing at disappearing into the woodwork, in the best of ways! We ended up with a ton of candid shots, both of us and all of our guests, and we don't even recall seeing her at most the event. Even a guest, a photographer by profession, commented on how Jennifer did a great job of "getting the shot" without being noticed. When it was time for posed photos, she was great at getting everyone where they needed to be quickly but in a friendly manner. She stood in puddles and climbed on top of things to get the shot she wanted and they all turned out amazing. One of our favorites was a shot taken from the outside looking though to the dance floor with us (bride and groom) dancing and framed in a window pane. Another favorite is of us on the top of a hill with our guests captured in the lower part of the shot. From the first second Jennifer showed up on the day of the event she was smiling, warm and having a lot of fun. She is very bubbly and someone you instantly want to share your day with. Jennifer gave suggestions and hints when taking posed photos, and kept us moving often. We did posed photos in a variety of locations, and moving around helped keep people loose and ready for the next photo. Also, she did a great job of keeping people laughing and went with whatever was working in the moment." |
