Valentines Day Wedding Ideas

Are you getting married on Valentines Day? You can’t get more romantic than that! Even if you don’t tie the knot on that actual day, you can use a Valentines day theme which will still have that romantic effect. You can use some of the following Valentines Day Wedding ideas to help fill the air with romance:

Location

Book early if your date is Valentines Day as it is very popular! Find a church or country hotel that allows candles, soft music, lush flowers and a late evening ceremony. If you use a hotel you can use it for the ceremony and reception. February is also ski season, so you may even find some great deals at ski resorts for your wedding ceremony/reception!

Invites

Invites with a vintage valentine look will really set the theme of your wedding day. Set the tone with something like: “Come celebrate love and romance on Valentine’s Day at the wedding of…..”

Decor

Create a romantic atmosphere with candlelight and if the location has a fireplace, make sure to use it! February is a cold month, and a warm cozy fire will add to that romantic mood you want to create! Put photos of you and your fiancé on love hearts and put them on the tables. Place red and white candles on the tables and scatter heart shape confetti around them. Instead of using table numbers, name each table after famous couples, such as: Romeo and Juliet!
Walking toward your groom on a blanket of rose petals. Have your florist place five shades of petals, spread out on the aisle. Make sure to seat your guests from the sides so you and your bridesmaids are the first to set foot on them.

Brides attire

Wear an old fashioned wedding gown and wrap a luxurious red shawl around your arms, and hold onto a beautiful bouquet of red roses. Or you could choose a classic style wedding gown and add some red roses as accents in your hair. Have your bridesmaids wear varying shades of pink but the same style of dress.

Music

Hire an Italian opera singer to add lots of romance. If you have a dj, write up a little story about how the two of you met and have him read it to your guests.

Catering

For the cake, choose white with red hearts and/or pink flowers. Or chocolate with red hearts and filling like red velvet or strawberries. For appetizers serve oyster prawns(an aphrodisiac), heart shaped sandwiches, and chocolate covered strawberries.

Favors

Give guests little boxes filled with heart shaped biscuits/cookies or sweets and write a little love quote on a heart shaped piece of card.
