Having a Christmas Wedding?

Here are some ideas for your Christmas theme!

Planning a wedding for the Christmas season adds even more magic to the spirit of the holidays. We put together some ideas to help with your Christmas Wedding Theme.

Attire:
For the bride, a traditional white gown with a velvet or fur shawl and a fur muff rather than a bouquet to keep you warm.

For the Groom, all white tux with tails.

The bridesmaids can wear silver, red, or green dresses and the groomsmen in white tuxes with silver bowties and vests.

Flowers:
Red Calla Lillies, Poinsettias, or red and white roses will look beautiful and also add a touch of holly, ivy, pine or ornamental berries. Also consider a crystal bouquet instead of flowers for the bride.

Transportation:
A magical arrival in a horse drawn sleigh or carriage with an added touch having the sleigh driver dressed as Santa!
Church:
Check with your church beforehand because they may already have decorated for christmas. If not, try christmas lights wrapped in tulle or white ribbon. This will give a snowy, romantic effect. You can also hang wreaths on the pews.

Reception:
Choose a reception location that has a fireplace for a warm, cozy setting. Place an ice sculpture upon entrance for a winter feel.

Centerpeices:
For a festive look, use red roses in a bowl filled with green pine tree branches. Or, place wreaths in the center of each table with a candle in the middle. Another choice would be bright red cranberries in a bowl of water with pine cented floating candles. Mini Christmas Trees , gingerbread houses, or christmas presents also look beautiful as centerpeices.
Music / Entertainment:
Choose some Christmas Carols for cocktail hour and during dinner. You could also hire Christmas Carolers to stop by each table. Have a relative or friend dress as Santa and bring small gifts for the children.

Food:
Greet guests with Christmas cookies, hot chocolate, eggnog, and spiced wine. For dinner serve turkey, stuffing, potatoes, cranberry sauces, and sliced ham for a festive holiday feel.

Wedding Cake:
Choose an all white cake with holly, snowflake patterns, silver embellishments, or sugar sculptures. Place the cake in a sleigh with reindeer and Santa pulling it along like its one big beautiful gift! Or, instead of the cake on top of a sleigh, you could use a cake topper you in the shape of a star, sleigh, or bells.
Favors:
Christmas ornaments are something that everyone can use on their tree and will always remind them of your special day. You can paint on the bride and grooms names and wedding date. Or another nice idea would be miniature stockings stuffed with Christmas Candies or hot chocolate mix in a decorative Christmas tin. One more idea would be holiday cookie cutters tied with a ribbon and attach a Christmas recipe.

These are just a few ideas to make your Christmas themed wedding special, but there are so many more possibilities to use your own creativity to add something unique to your special day.
