Jenna Bush's Wedding to Henry Hager

Henry Hager and Jenna Bush Wedding

Jenna Bush WeddingJenna Bush, 26, daughter of President George W. Bush, marries Henry Hager, a former White House aide, on Saturday May 10th 2008. The wedding was held at Bush's 1,600 acre Texas Prairie Chapel Ranch in Crawford.

As the nuptials drew near on Saturday, tour buses loaded with wedding guests began rolling through downtown Crawford. An 18 foot rusty metal sculpture of an angel, a gift to the town after Bush's re-election, was adorned with a white veil and a bouquet of white flowers. Plastic geese ornaments on a lawn were dressed up with white knit hats and draped in tulle.

The ceremony began a half hour before sunset, as the couple stood near a cross made of beige Texas limestone. The Reverend Kirbyjon Caldwell of Windsor Village United Methodist Church in Houston performed the ceremony as officiator.

Jenna wore a long beaded white gown with no veil, designed by Oscar de la Renta. Her twin sister and maid of honor Barbara wore a pale blue halterneck dress. She chose 14 attendants, they weren't officially "bridesmaids" since they didn't participate in the ceremony. They wore knee length green, blue, yellow, and lavendar dresses, designed by Lela Rose, a Texan designer. The colors of the dresses were meant to resemble Texan wildflowers. The groom was dressed in a dark blue suit with a powder blue tie. Jack, Hagers brother, was his best man, along with 14 ushers who walked the 14 women attendants down the aisle.

Former President George HW Bush did a reading during the ceremony with former first lady Barbara Bush.

More than 200 family and friends attended the post wedding party, entertained by the Tyrone Smith Revue, a 10 piece party band from Nashville, TN. The musicians gave the newlyweds what Smith described as a "get down" party. Jenna picked "You Are So Beautiful" for her father-daughter dance. The couples first dance was to "Lovin' in My Baby's Eyes" by Taj Mahal.

The wedding was not what you'd expect from a presidential family. It was a very low key private affair, and Jenna didn't just turn over all of the planning decisions to a White House secretary...Jenna actually had a lot of input in the event planning.

The couple is expected to honeymoon in Europe and settle down in a two bedroom, two bathroom town house in Baltomore Maryland. She will continue to teach and he will work at Constellation Energy in Maryland.

Jenna met Henry during the presidents re-election campaign in 2004. He worked as an aide to Bush's former top political advisor Karl Rove. Henry graduated from Wake Forest University and will receive his masters degree this month in business administration from the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business.
