Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross, 43, is engaged to marry boyfriend of seven months, stockbroker Tom Mahoney, 47. She accepted his proposal on Friday August 12th 2005.
In March of 2005, Cross and Mahoney were spotted enjoying a romantic ski weekend trip to Deer Valley, Utah. Only one month before this, the actress was denying rumors that she is gay, following internet claims that one of the stars of Desperate Housewives was planning on coming out of the closet. Cross appeared on The View and said she was bewildered by the rumors.
They are planning a Saturday wedding for the summer of 2006 and it will be a private affair. It will most likely be a black tie affair. The ring bearer will be her godson, and her goddaughters and friends young girls will join her as she walks down the aisle.
The actress, who plays Bree Van De Kamp as the perfectionist homemaker on the hit ABC show Desperate Housewives, was nominated for a best comedy series actress Emmy last month . "Housewives", from gay creator Marc Cherry, raked in a total of 15 nominations, including nominations for her co-stars Teri Hatcher and Felicity Huffman. The awards take place September 18th.
The first season of the show has been US network ABC's top-rated show, attracting 22.8 million viewers.
Cross's TV credits also include "Melrose Place" and "Knots Landing."
This will be the first marriage for both.
