Heiress and "The Simple Life" reality TV star Paris Hilton accepted a proposal of marriage on May 25th 2005 from Greek shipping heir Paris Latsis. She had just returned from a three week publicity tour to Europe to promote her new movie House of Wax and her new fragrance.
Paris, 24, and Latsis, 27, have been dating for about 8 months, and the romance reportedly began at a New York party. Latsis is heir to a reported $7.5 billion Greek shipping fortune. Paris's spokesman Rob Shuter says about the engagement, "They are happy and excited.".
Hilton recently said of her Latsis, "I'm so in love and grateful to have found such an honest and loyal person. I feel like we were meant to be, and I'm happy to have found someone to spend the rest of my life with." Latsis chose 15 beautiful engagement rings for Paris to choose from.
The couple marked the engagement on Saturday, May 29th with a barbecue for 75 friends at their Hollywood home.
No wedding date has been set yet. It will be the first marriage for the both of them.
