1. Know your sunset time. Sunset is when some of the
most beautiful wedding images are created. Plan the
ceremony accordingly so there is plenty of time for
formals and sunset images.
2. Know your photographer. When you go to a
consultation, whose images are you actually looking at?
Who will be the actual photographer at your wedding and
are you viewing their work? Many companies book
multiple weddings and send less than qualified people
to photograph weddings.
3. Many photographers now offer the negatives. If so,
carefully read the reproduction rights you have with
your images. Also, will you receive them shortly after
your wedding or a year later?
4. Find out what your photographers contingency plan is
in case of an emergency. If something happens to your
photographer, what will they do to ensure someone will
be at your wedding to document your special day.
5. After the wedding, what is the expected turn around
time on receiving your images, proofs, albums, etc?
6. Who selects the images for you wedding album? Some
companies do not let the customer select the actual
images for their wedding albums.
