Having a St Patrick's Day Wedding?

Here are some ideas for your St Patricks Day theme!

St Patricks day is a great time to celebrate Celtic heritage and have a great time with family and friends. What a wonderful time to celebrate a wedding! We put together a few tips and advice to help you with your planning!

Attire:
For formal attire, have the groom and groomsmen wear classic black tuxedos with green vests or ties. The bridesmaids could wear dresses of the same green color to match.

Or, for a more casual party, consider having the bridesmaids dress as pixie fairies or irish maids and the groomsmen can dress as Irish leprechauns. For yourself dress in a white gown but incorporate some green touches into your dress such as ribbon or lace.

Invitations:
For a formal elegant look, start with a white invitation and have a simple Celtic Knot cross in green, with green writing. Or another elegant irish look would be a scroll invitation. For a more casual fun wedding invitation, incorporate Shamrocks and the Claddaugh symbol(the Irish symbol for love)! You can also use a rainbow with a pot of gold, pixie dust, and leprechauns.

Flowers:
Wildflowers are popular for Irish weddings. You should also use lots of greenery, like ferns. Use white ribbons throughout the ferns to brighten it up.
Or, for a more classy elegant look, go for classic calla lilies or vanilla cream roses.
Centerpieces
Place white carnations with green tint in a simple vase. You could also use green and white confetti or small four leaf clovers and white rose petals to scatter on the tables.
Favors:
Luck o the Irish key chains- lucky rabbits foot, tiny buckets with gold wrapped candies, an Irish cd with personalized label, terra cota pots with shamrocks planted inside, claddagh cookies, airplane sized bottles of irish whiskey, Irish cream, etc

Music:
Have bag pipe musicians play at your ceremony or reception, or instead a harpist. Consider hiring a group of Irish dancers to dance at the reception. Also, the Irish Wedding Song is very popular at Irish weddings.

Also, if your wedding is outdoors, consider a Maypole. The pole looks beautiful since you can decorate it with ribbons and creates a fun atmosphere of dancing.

Food:
Choose Irish foods such as Corned Beef and Cabbage, and maybe a dish that includes green pesto sauce. For your cake try Pistachio flavor and have it shaped like a shamrock.

These are just a few ideas to make your St Patrick's Day themed wedding special, but there are so many more possibilities to use your own creativity to add something unique to your special day.
